About Kingwood Solar

Kingwood Solar is a 175 MW utility scale solar project located in Xenia, Cedarville, and Miami Townships in Greene County. The project area consists of approximately 1,500 acres of private, leased land. Kingwood Solar is projected to provide $1.5 million annually to local communities in Greene County, with the largest contribution benefiting local schools. The Kingwood Solar team is working hard to be an active community partner, listening to concerns, and building a project that our local communities and state can be proud of for years to come.

Thoughtful design for a healthy community

The project is being developed by Vesper Energy (formerly Lendlease Energy Development), a renewable energy company developing, owning and operating solar and energy storage projects across the country. Started in 2015 as Lendlease Energy Development, the Vesper team has successfully commercialized more than 680 MW of renewable energy projects in the U.S., and is currently developing similar projects in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Texas, and California. In Q4 2020 Lendlease Energy Development was recapitalized as Vesper Energy with equity provided by a Chicago-based investment company, however the core team of experienced energy professionals remains unchanged.
